Antoine Vallon is a character and a secondary antagonist from the remake.
Role of the film[]
Antoine Vallon is a Detroit mobster who was being investigated by Detective Alex Murphy, whom he assaulted via a car bomb which Murphy's son witnessed. Vallon originally paid Detroit Police Officers Andre Daniels and John Lake to keep his operation running smoothly, without police interference, for at least the last two years, as well as he kept an informant within the police, later revealed to be the Chief of Police, Karen Dean. His chief operation appears to be illegal weapons sales, some of which are retrieved from police evidence lockers.
Alex Murphy and Jack Lewis contacted him through Jerry White, a low-level perp they were doing street-buys from. They meet with Vallon, posing as criminals from Chicago who wanted to make a big buy, but Vallon was eventually tipped off and left, just as a hit squad of three men appeared at the restaurant. The hit attempt fails, with six of Vallon's henchmen in the morgue, and Lewis injured.
In this shooting's aftermath, Lake and Daniels slip to Vallon the name of the hospital, in case he wants to take care of Murphy as well, who'll visit his partner by afternoon. Vallon hesitates, fearing a police investigation backlash if he kills a cop, particularly after the restaurant shooting (somehow overlooking the fact that his last words at that place were "make sure you kill them both!"), but takes the bait, sending a minion to plant the bomb under Alex's car. The bomb detonates later night, at Alex's house, and he's left undeterred for the following three months, as the case was filed, despite the recovered Lewis continuing to work on it.
Later, when Alex Murphy, now RoboCop, is revealed and starts cleaning crime in Detroit at behest of OmniCorp, he becomes frustrated because, with RoboCop on the streets, he can't move any product without being caught. Lake and Daniels insist that RoboCop is just a zombie and he's safe (Particularly due to Dennet Norton's tampering with Murphy's dopamine levels), but Alex recovers enough of his past to pick up the investigation, determined to end Vallon once and for all, tracking him down through Jerry and then Jerry's contact, Vallon's driver Marcus Price, who forgets to shut down an unencrypted cell phone which Murphy calls to track him.
Vallon, tipped off again, stages a stand with all of his men, equipped with high caliber weaponry (As tipped off was well) and night vision goggles, but they are all killed, including Vallon. In the aftermath Alex takes Vallon's guns for fingerprint analysis, reading fingerprints of Lake and Daniels on it. On his way back to the station, Alex acquires the CCTV footage of Vallon's meeting with Lake and Daniels, from the same day the bomb was planted in Alex's car, exposing them as corrupt officers, as well as Dean, whom Lake exposes after RoboCop shoots Daniels.
