"Can you fly, Bobby?"

Clarence Boddicker[src]

Bobby Martin[1] was a member of a gang led by Clarence Boddicker.

Biography[]

Bobby was charged with handling explosives or demolitions for a robbery committed by the gang. However, during the robbery, he applied too much power and wound up burning the money along with the safe which left the money worthless. A furious Boddicker berated Bobby for his mistake just before they were pursued by Officers Alex Murphy and Anne Lewis. During the ensuing firefight, Bobby was shot in the leg by Murphy.[2]

Still furious at him for destroying their stolen money and knowing his injury would be a liability, Boddicker wasted no time in sacrificing Bobby for the betterment of the gang. Clarence sarcastically remarked "Can you fly, Bobby?". Realizing he was about to be tossed out of the van, Bobby pleaded for his life. Boddicker ignored his pleas and had Bobby thrown into the windshield of the police cruiser, killing him. Murphy then pushed Bobby's mangled corpse off the windshield and tossed him onto the road.[2]
