David is the son of Alex and Clara Murphy. He likes the Red Wings, plays hockey, and attends Glenhurst Elementary School in Detroit, Michigan.
It is Alex's realization that David saw the explosion and was emotionally scarred by it that motivates Alex to override his emotional dampening and pursue Antoine Vallon and the two bad cops inside the department.
