Edward Foster was an OCP executive.

Biography[]

Foster once worked in Family Services, a job he hated. He eventually moved to Internal Affairs as an assistant to Smith. When RoboCop was accused of murdering Reverend Robert Taker and they had the cyborg cornered, Edward was at Smith's side, anxious to assist in any way possible. In doing so, he parroted Smith's orders and fired an explosive round, prompting RoboCop to back his car into a nearby body of water.[1]

On Smith's orders, Foster summoned the SWAT Team to St. John-Paul Cathedral, where RoboCop was hiding. After entering the tunnels beneath the church, he became panicked upon seeing RoboCop and opened fire, with one round hitting the ceiling and causing a cave-in. Smith cursed Foster for this, threatening to have him sent back to Family Services.[1]

Foster was later promoted to Vice President of Security Concepts and introduced the Community Action Patrol (CAP Crew) to the Detroit Police Department, telling them they will have full control over policing Zone Five, a decision that was met with much derision from the police department. Despite this, Foster argued that it would be more efficient for the police. When RoboCop came near Zone Five, Foster ordered for a chip to be placed in him that would prevent him from entering the zone.[2]

Foster and Tish Collier worked on the Interceptor Mark II and showed her around Metro South. At the unveiling of the Mark II, Foster introduced himself to assassins Schmidt and Wilson, who claimed to be working for SecuroTech, the provider of the Mark II's audio detection unit. Foster found Wilson attractive and gawked at her, even in the presence of Tish, with whom he had somewhat of a romance.[3]

It soon became known that Tish was part of an assassination plot on the Chairman and RoboCop. After the attempt on the Chairman failed, she planned to blow up RoboCop in the Mark II. As RoboCop got into the car, Foster distracted her by kissing her, allowing the cyborg to set the car on autopilot and make a quick escape, convincing Tish that he died when the car soon exploded. Foster was then dismayed to have been left out of a raid that ended in Tish and her associates being arrested.[3]

In preparation for the arrival of the President of the United States to visit Delta City, Foster told the curious Mediabreak audience that RoboCop would be helping with crowd control. Shortly after, Pudface Morgan's goons Leo and Shorty approached Foster, posing as news reporters. They convinced him to be interviewed, but he was instead kidnapped and left inside a van with a bomb, having learned that they planned to pull off an attack at the ceremony with the President.[4]
