The Flightpack was a prototype jet pack project designed for RoboCop by Dr. Marie Lazarus.
In addition to allowing RoboCop sustained flight, it was also designed to function as an auxiliary power unit that he could interface with to recharge his robotic systems in the event of a power drain. However, the funding for the project ran out and it was abandoned before it reached the testing phase.[1]
The only functional prototype was stored in a police armory until it was stolen by members of the Rebellion, under the direction of Bertha Washington, because it "looks expensive."[1]
RoboCop later used it to provide support for his fellow police officers in repelling an all out attack on Cadillac Heights by a force of Rehab mercenaries and Splatterpunks, ending his flight on an upper floor of the OCP headquarters building where he confronted Paul McDaggett.[1]
