Harold Hammersmith was the CEO of Vetrocomp Industries, a competitor to OCP, where Hammersmith previously served on the board.
Biography[]
Hammersmith schemed with Chip Chayken to buy out OCP. While he participated in blackmail of the OCP board members, he adamantly refused to hear details about Chayken's plans to kidnap the Chairman. Once Chayken carried out the kidnapping, he assured Hammersmith that they could pin the crime entirely upon a pair of Rad Femmes.[1]
Publicly, Hammersmith denounced the kidnapping, but stated that the vote on the OCP takeover would take place in his absence. He was approached by RoboCop shortly after, admitting that he was housing Chayken since his release from prison, but denied any wrongdoing. Once the Chairman escaped his predicament, Hammersmith withdrew his bid for OCP.[1]
