"Afterlife-eternity, today."―Afterlife slogan[src]
Project Afterlife was an Omni Consumer Products project, orchestrated by the Old Man.
Overview[]
The project was inspired by the RoboCop program, originally created by the late Bob Morton. The project was initially a plan to give people a chance to live forever in near-perfect bodies resembling the ones they had in life. Several prototypes were made and organic materials, including harvested brains, were taken for experimentation; however the product found itself too primitive to get off the ground.[1]
The project was built beneath an old apartment building where the Old Man himself once resided, where scientists were coordinated by Wendell Antonowsky, who they didn't like working with, as he overworked the team. He also hired members of Detroit's criminal element to harvest necessary materials for the project.[1]
Following the Old Man's death, Max Becker became acting CEO of OCP and not only began looking into replacing the Detroit Police Department with his improved model of UEDs, but also shut down pet projects of the Old Man, such as Afterlife and Delta City. The Old Man however, was able to successfully place his brain in that of RoboCop 2, which would do battle with RoboCop himself, leading to both the destruction of OCP's primary headquarters and the permanent shutdown of the Old Man and his projects for good.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Project Afterlife was introduced in RoboCop: Rogue City, in which it serves as the main focus of the game's plot.
