Since its release, RoboCop has been referenced numerous times in popular culture.

Film[]

  • In the movie Ready Player One, RoboCop appears as one of OASIS avatars.
  • In the animated movie Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Genie imitates the ED-209.
  • In a scene from the movie Cop Out, the two main characters in the movie come up with the idea of fooling a thief with a little staging in which one of them pretends to be a criminal and the other continues to act as a cop, but as Paul likes to imitate and decides to imitate RoboCop.
  • In Deadpool, Deadpool says "Dead or alive, you're coming with me" while being handcuffed and taken away by Colossus.
  • In the animated film, The LEGO Movie, the Robo SWATs have a very similar name to RoboCop. Also, the Super Secret Police and Octan are very similar to the Detroit Police Department and Omni Consumer Products, respectively, from the RoboCop franchise.
  • In the sequel Deadpool 2, Colossus says "Come quietly or there will be trouble" and both Firefist and Deadpool mention that he stole that quote from RoboCop.
  • In America: The Motion Picture, Paul Revere became a centaur version of RoboCop after merging with his dead horse.

Television[]

  • In an episode of the anime Sailor Moon, RoboCop's Prime Directives appear written on the Sailor Mercury's supercomputer and in an episode of Sailor Moon Stars Sailor Cop's appearance and powers are a homage to RoboCop's.
  • In the Japanese series Dekaranger and its American adaptation Power Rangers S.P.D., the giant robot's pistol comes out of his leg, imitating the place where RoboCop's weapon is stored.
  • In an episode of Aladdin, the Genie imitates RoboCop.
  • The cartoon Thundercats has a space police woman wearing a helmet very similar to that of RoboCop.
  • The cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, has a robot cop that was a reference to RoboCop.
  • In the series Power Rangers Turbo, the Blue Centurion character bears some resemblance to RoboCop, mainly because he is literally a cop of the future. In the Brazilian voiceover of the cartoon DuckTales, GizmoDuck is called Roboduck, because the two characters are a bit alike.
  • In an episode of A Pup Named Scooby-Doo Robopup is a parody of RoboCop.
  • In Walter Melon Robotrol is a parody of RoboCop.
  • In an episode of Rocko's Modern Life Robofrog is a parody of RoboCop.
  • In an episode of Back at the Barnyard Robopeck is a parody of RoboCop.
  • In an episode of The Critic RoboClapper is a RoboCop-esque.
  • In an episode of the cartoon Miraculous Ladybug, the villain is a police robot named Rogercop.
  • In an episode of Alvin and the Chipmunks Robomunk is a parody of RoboCop.
  • In an episode of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Robo Koopa This episode's plot is based upon the film series RoboCop.
  • In an episode of Family Guy XL-K is based on ED-209.
  • In The Simpsons Ralph-O-Cop and The Cyborganizer are parodies of RoboCop and Killhammad Aieee bears a very strong resemblance to the ED-209 droid, In "Treehouse of Horror XXX" In the nightmarish future that results from Homer failing to vote, several ED-209 droids (from the Department of Homeland Security) are seen walking through the ruins of Springfield and Bart, Santa's Little Helper, Springfield police force and Snake Jailbird's appearances bears a strong resemblance to RoboCop.
  • In Robot Chicken skirt "Mr. Robo-Rogers Neighborhood" this is a mashup of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and Robocop.
  • In an episode of Teen Titans Go!, Toilet Cop is a parody of Robocop with a few features similar to ED-209.

Video games[]

  • In TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, the character Cyborg Chimp is a parody of RoboCop.
  • RoboCop appears as a guest fighter in the Mortal Kombat 11 expansion, Aftermath.
