Rehab Troops
The "Rehabs" were a paramilitary force made of Amazon War veterans led by Paul McDaggett. The group was commissioned by OCP to evict citizens of Old Detroit to pave the way for Delta City, a process they defined as "urban rehabilitation."
History[]
Prior to working for OCP, the Rehabs were mercenaries who participated in the Amazon War.[1]
While mercilessly evicting citizens – even resorting to murder in some cases – they broadcasted to the public that those being evicted would be looked after in rehabilitation centers while their homes were being rebuilt.[1]
Eventually, a small group of rebels was formed with the goal of holding Cadillac Heights long enough to keep their homes. McDaggett attempted to force the Detroit Police Department to join the Rehabs, but they refused, instead joining the rebels, who were ultimately successful in their goal, defeating the Rehabs.[1]
Equipment[]
Soldiers making up the rehabs typically wore a light gray flight suit, complete with black boots and futuristic-looking body armor. Their helmet looked similar to that of a biker helmet, with a clear visor. Most wore black belts, however others had holsters for their sidearms as well black gloves. The arsenal of the Rehabs however, was not entirely standardized, as several officers were seen with several different types of weapons, ranging from sidearms to assault rifles and so forth.[1]
Most of their troops are seen with a Muzzlite MZ14 Bullpup assault rifle, with several attachments. Others were seen issued the Uzi. They also used the Colt Commando with several attachments, as well as Heckler & Koch MP5, mostly used by Splatterpunks. Other weapons included the Desert Eagle, as well as the Beretta 92.[1]
