"Resurrection" is the third part of RoboCop: Prime Directives.
Plot[]
Systems Support arm up to take down RoboCop and RoboCable, who trudge through Old Detroit, the former heavily damaged from the previous encounter. Reaching a place to rest, Murphy sits down as Cable steps out to face the militia, easily managing to take them down. Ann R. Key comes to RoboCop with Abby Normal and Lexx Icon. Cable returns only to find Murphy gone and is ambushed by remaining Systems Support soldiers. Carver prepares to execute him until David Kaydick comes to Cable's aid, ousting Systems Support from Old Detroit.
Following the deaths of the OCP board, Damian Lowe is made President of the corporation. Under Lowe's leadership, the Zero Fatality Act is repealed and the Detroit Police Department is supplied with more guns.
At an abandoned church, Kaydick tells Cable he will repair both his body and mind. Meanwhile, Ann and her crew make repairs to RoboCop at their hideout.
Lowe holds a meeting with the new OCP board, which includes Sara Cable and James Murphy. He announces the implementation of S.A.I.N.T. and names Sara the new executive Vice President.
After the meeting, James reveals that he believes Sara is the source of the anonymous messages he has received. She confirms this, adding that she also oversaw his foster case placements and fast-tracked his employment by OCP. She assigns him to tie up any loose ends with RoboCop, who James does not regard as his late father. Lowe listens in on this exchange, then tells Ed that the S.A.I.N.T. project needs to be moved to the main part of the building.
Kaydick completes repairs on Cable, implementing additional defense capabilities. He reveals his identity to Cable, that he is a neurocybernetics specialist who is wanted by OCP for unauthorized research practices. He further reveals that he has also installed a Svengali chip, allowing him to use Cable as a tool for revenge against OCP.
RoboCop reboots, learning that Ann is helping him because he helped Jordan. He wishes to go to Cable, but he is unable, as he is still not fully repaired.
Lowe unveils S.A.I.N.T. on the revamped MediaNet, announcing plans to fully automate Delta City. Due to S.A.I.N.T., the maintenance staff is laid off. James is absent from a board meeting, so Sara explains that he is seeing to the termination of the RoboCop program.
At Precinct 1, James shuts down the RoboCop program. Dr. Frost is surprised to learn who James is and wonders if he is even aware that RoboCop is his father. He assures her that he is well-aware and she sarcastically responds that his father would be proud of him.
While making repairs, Ann notices an inert interface point in RoboCop's brain that may be related to reasoning, personality, and long-term memory. Despite Ann's worries that activating the point may not help, Murphy tells Abby to activate it. She does so and Murphy screams as images of his death flash through his mind. Due to the information overload, he enters a sort of coma.
Lowe shows S.A.I.N.T. to potential investors, but Ed has his reservations about demonstrating its capabilities, as he is still working out technical issues in the system. They have S.A.I.N.T. activate the external defense shields, causing a worker who was performing his job while on the side of the building to fall to his death.
Kaydick monologues to Cable about Legion, a virus he designed that is capable of wiping out human and machine life alike. He plans for them to recover Legion, which Cable reluctantly agrees to.
RoboCop wakes and gets up, his systems being beyond optimal after repairs. Ann tells RoboCop about Legion.
Cable flashes back to when he took Sara to the hospital to deliver their child. Outside the room, he talks to Murphy, asking what it was like when his own son was born. Murphy explains that he was "nervous, excited, scared, happy all at the same time." Murphy assures Cable that he will be a good father. However, Cable is taken aside by a doctor and learns that his baby did not live. In a further flashback at the cemetery where the baby was buried, Cable tells Murphy that he and Sara have not been speaking much. Murphy offers to be there to talk to if Cable needs it. Upon being told that the world is not fair, Cable remarks "the world only makes sense if your force it to." Back in the present, Kaydick tells RoboCable that John Cable is dead and that he can avenge him.
Ann tells Murphy about Kaydick, specifically that his research – some of which led to RoboCop's creation – eventually led to the use of human test subjects, prompting his criminal charges he managed to escape from. Ann and her crew were associated with Kaydick until becoming aware of his plans with Legion. Murphy agrees to help Ann, Lexx, and Abby take down Kaydick.
James leads Systems Security in search of RoboCop, though Carver has his reservations about the young executive.
Kaydick explains to Cable his plan for implementing Legion, then remotely uses Jordan's Otomo doll to contact her. Being her father, Jordan recognizes him and addresses him as such.
RoboCop contacts RoboCable remotely and turns on his beacon so he can find him. Murphy assures Ann that Cable can be trusted. Meanwhile, James locks in on a signal, turns out to be Kaydick and Cable in a truck outfitted with a cloaking device. They barrel past Systems Security, running over one of the men in the process.
Because she feels she is essential to the dangerous plan for stopping Kaydick, Ann asks Abby to stay at the hideout with Jordan. However, the girl is missing, so Ann goes to find her, ending up being ambushed by Kaydick, who knocks her out. Cable enters the hideout, ordering the surrender of RoboCop, Abby, and Lexx. RoboCable fires two rounds headed toward Abby and Lexx, but RoboCop fires a shot that hits the bullet meant for Lexx, deflecting it into the one meant for Abby, saving both women. Systems Support arrives and a gunfight ensues, during which Abby and Lexx are killed and Cable escapes. RoboCop gets into Lexx's car and tears through the militia as he makes his escape.
Kaydick scans Jordan, finding Legion incubating inside her, where it has learned about human neurology. Kaydick downloads Legion from Jordan and begins to upload it via satellite dish, the virus slowly taking hold of S.A.I.N.T.
Sara calls a board meeting, in which she shows James' live feed of the pursuit of RoboCop.
RoboCop tracks Cable's signal, barreling the car into the abandoned church and crashing into the satellite dish, stopping the upload of Legion. Systems Support is right on his tail. As the cyborgs exchange gunfire with the militia, Kaydick tries to escape with Jordan, but Ann manages to get to her feet and fight him. During the scuffle, Murphy stops Cable from shooting James, causing a brief standoff between the two cyborgs. After resuming gunfire, Cable shoots off Carver's hand and beats him to death with a sledgehammer. Kaydick and Cable make their escape with Jordan and Murphy assures Ann they will find her. James confronts RoboCop and prepares to set off a disruptor device that will fry RoboCop's systems. The battery in the live feed's camera goes dead, leading the OCP board to believe James has set off the device. However, Murphy explains that he never reached out to James after his mother died, feeling it was better for him and that he could not be a good father for him. He takes off his helmet and James stands down, tearfully apologizing to his father. Murphy, James, and Ann escape the church in Lexx's car as a nearby MediaNet billboard states that RoboCop is dead.
