Reverend Robert "Bob" Taker was a televangelist who ran the Godamighty Inc. Broadcasting Center, Arcade, and Shopping Mall. With his wife Bambi, he hosted their own television program, the Hallelujah Hour.

Biography[]

A portly yet charismatic man, he was a religiously materialistic individual than an actual man of the cloth. With spitfire Southern State "Fire and Brimstone" Baptist teachings, his sermons would be used to rally his flock to garner their faith, before turning to the act of asking for charities of donations to his church, which amassed in the millions.

With investments in many religious institutions of business, Taker used his money to try to create a literal "paradise on earth." After hearing of Dr. Roger Yung's plan to turn 142 Cryo-Vets into cyborg policemen, the Takers led a protest against RoboCop where they and their followers stormed into Metro South and confronted the cyborg. They left only after making the point that he thought RoboCop was no protector but instead a thing of pure evil.[1]

Later, on the Takers' television program, a man who claimed to be brutalized by RoboCop was featured as a guest on the show. He appeared alongside Mayor Fred Friendly, who promised a full investigation. Taker told the man – who was suing the police for $300 million – that he was protected by the Lord.[1]

As he entertained an extramarital lover, Taker was shot to death in his Jacuzzi by Yung, who attempted to frame RoboCop for the murder.[1]
