- The book includes several mentions of MoonCorp, a moon colonization program.
- The scene of Frederickson, Connors, Alcott, and Stephanie Duffy encountering Clarence Boddicker's gang is included.
- Omni Consumer Products is shortened to "OmniCon" instead of "OCP."
- Anne Lewis' hair is described as "cascading" and "strawberry colored."
- Steve Minh is instead named Chan Oland.
- Dougy's name is instead spelled Dougie and he is given the last name Harris.
- Bobby is given the last name Martin.
- Dougie and Emil share a joint.

- A version of this part of the scene was planned for the film, with Adam Faraizl as Petey, but because the shoot went too late for child labor laws to allow Faraizl to work, the part was cut.
- Instead of shooting the would-be rapist in the groin, RoboCop fires at a wall, ricocheting a bullet into the assailant's head.
- Hedgecock has an argument with police captain Corman, the latter of whom negotiates with Ron Miller.
- Mayor Gibson is given the first name Waldo.
- A scene with Murphy's wife and son – who are prepared to move to the Moon Colony – after Alex's death is included. Jimmy enthusiastically watches the news story about RoboCop. Jan watches with him and feels something familiar about RoboCop.

- When RoboCop is trapped beneath a pile if steel, Clarence approaches with a grenade. RoboCop frees himself and charges toward Clarence, taking the grenade and throwing it near Joe. Joe's left foot is blown off and he falls onto a spiked wall, which impales his right leg. He manages to free himself and crawls toward his Cobra Assault Cannon, but is mauled to death by a guard dog.
- RoboCop decapitates Clarence by punching his head through a wall.
- Two OCP guards confront RoboCop in the board room, prompting him to subdue them. Jones grabs his gun and tries to shoot RoboCop until grabbing the Old Man.
- A final Mediabreak follows the board room scene, featuring Mayor Gibson visiting Lewis in the hospital.
