Rochelle Carney was an OCP executive who produced and hosted the controversial television program, Inside Crime, which featured a camera crew closely following crimes-in-progress.

Biography[]

Carney entered into an illicit relationship with OCP executive Aubrey Fox, though she was less-than-interested, seemingly having a real longing for the Chairman.[1]

Following a ratings success due to the mutual appearance of RoboCop and Pudface Morgan, Carney and Fox hoped to have the two appear on an episode again. The Chairman warned them against manipulating the show. She later met with Pudface himself, the two planning for his rematch with RoboCop. She traveled to the Metro South precinct, where she arranged a meeting with Detective Lisa Madigan and met RoboCop, telling them she hoped the police and Inside Crime would be on the same side. Madigan showed Carney the precinct's dispatch monitor, showing her RoboCop's exact location. She passed this information along to Pudface, who carried out his next crime, again leading to an appearance by RoboCop. With this episode, the Chairman began to suspect collusion, but Carney claimed innocence.[1]

Carney and Pudface planned for her to be "kidnapped" in front of the cameras, police, and the Chairman to diminish suspicions that they were colluding. Carney then attended a meeting with the Chairman, Madigan, and Fox to discuss Inside Crime. After deliberately dripping some of her drink on her shirt, Carney excused herself from the room to let Pudface's goons into the building. Moments later, they took the room hostage, with the Inside Crime cameras broadcasting live. However, when a half-hour delay inexplicably began, Pudface suspected Carney of deception, exposing the collusion to the others. She said she would resign the following morning. RoboCop and other police officers soon arrived and Pudface held Carney at gunpoint. However, she fought back, beating up and knocking out Pudface, who was then unmasked by RoboCop and Shorty in disguise.[1]

Carney wrote a book entitled Why Men Are Jerks and appeared on What's On Your Mind? to promote it, alongside Sis Finster of the feminist group Women for the Overthrow of Male Bastions (WOMB).[2]

She plotted with fellow disgraced ex-OCP executive Chip Chayken to extort money from the Chairman and OCP. They employed the help of Rad Femmes Willa Sweet and Punk to help kidnap the Chairman. Because the Chairman learned Carney was in on the plot, the par decided to leave his fate up to the Rad Femmes.[2]

Carney captured Detective Madigan after finding her searching her home and took her to the Rad Femmes. Carney then went to Chayken and they saw RoboCop outside searching for Chayken. They got into Carney's car and she ran into RoboCop, but he managed to hang onto the roof and shoot out the engine. As they got out, Chayken held Carney at gunpoint until Diana Powers used a utility pole to shock Chayken into submission. Carney and Chayken were then arrested.[2]
